The prompt reply to this question is as follows: the interface will work with any Windows-compatible software which use computer sound card and/or serial ports for CAT system and PTT/CW outputs.
Although there are no visible reasons of incompatibility with all these programs, we are trying to test our interface with them. Currently, the following programs were tested: DigiPan, MixW, MMTTY, MMSSTV, Ham Radio Deluxe, DXBase, CQ-Log, DX4WIN, N1MM Logger. Please send us your testing results!
To make sure it will work without tests, you may compare interface characteristics (from its description) to the capabilities of your software. The following questions will help you to do this:
Does the program use computer sound card?
Does it use transceiver CAT system?
Does it allow directing PTT output to the RTS line of a serial port (also: CW output to the DTR line of the same port)?
Does it need any specific or exotic device to be connected to the computer?
Obviously, your computer must have USB socket(s) as well as audio in/out connectors. Also, processor speed and operating system must allow running your software.
The interface comes in several models, which are listed here. If your transceiver is not in this list, then you may look into the transceiver user manual and then probably find an appropriate interface model.
In the last case, the following things must be checked:
CAT system compatibility. The existing models of the interface may be divided into four categories (by CAT system electrical compatibility): RS-232-compatible models (most modern transceivers), CI-V-compatible (Icom transceivers), TTL (5V signals - old Kenwoods with 5-pin CAT connector), TTLI (inverted 5V signals, old Yaesus with 5-pin CAT connector).
Physical compatibility of the connectors.
PTT and CW outputs of this interface are transistor keys (open collector) and are usually compatible to all transceivers.
If there are no existing interface models which look compatible to your transceiver (there is either electrical or physical incompatibility), the solution still exists: you may purchase an interface model with CAT system type you need, and then replace connectors with ones you have.
